BEATSON TEENAGE CANCER TRUST
During Session 2025/26, our biennial fundraising activity was in aid of Beatson Teenage Cancer Trust and in memory of a member of the 212th that we lost to cancer in 2006 at age of 15yr, Shaun McBride.
A phenomanal amount was raised - £1329.92 - through a post-church lunch and loose change collection. It was great to see boys fully engaged in this activity and understanding how their small efforts could make a huge contribution to the care and research for those young people with cancer.
Whilst it took a bit of time to organise due to the summer holiday break, the "big cheque" presentation took place on Monday 5 October with representatives from The Beatson and members across all sections of the 212th.
TWECHAR OUTDOOR CENTRE
All sections recently attended Twechar Outdoor Centre for some exciting activities.
Company/Seniors had a fun Sunday morning enjoying some paddleboarding and kayaking on the Forth & Clyde Canal and were joined by a contingent of boys from 268th Glasgow.
The next day, Anchors and Juniors were schooled in bushcraft skills, roasting some marshmallows and cooking some popcorn.
