FUNDRAISING FOR BEATSON TEENAGE CANCER TRUST
Our chosen charity this year was Beatson Teenage Cancer Trust, with funds being raised in memory/tribute to a 212th member that we lost to cancer 20 years ago at the age of 15, Shaun McBride, a dedicated member of the Company from Anchors through to Seniors and prior to his passing was the recipient of the Best Senior Trophy. We continue to remember Shaun each year through the presentation of a trophy dedicated in his name which is awarded to the Best Company Boy.
Fundraising consisted of a 'soup & sandwich' lunch after church in March, which raised a phenominal £600 and a loose change collection undertaken by boys across all sections. Some boys used their own initiative raising funds through their own bake sales (kudos to Ben & Harry for that). With all the funds now collected, we recently transferred a total of £1329.92 to the Beatson - the biggest amount we've raised for a nominated charity.
Well done to all.
