Springburn District Table Tennis competition (Company/Senior Section) was held at The Leisuredrome, Bishopbriggs on Tuesday 6 March 2018.

The 212th secured both 1st and second place in the JUnior tournament, thanks to the efforts of Joseph Walker and Jonathon Reid. Well done to our team - the boys are pictured with their medals.

Like many organisations, businesses and individuals, the 212th was not immune to the effects of the 'Beast from the East'.

Whilst we were secretly hoping for some snow (in the Cairngorms), the prevailing poor weather and road conditions put paid to this year's ski-trip. And given the centres in the Cairngorm areas are booked well in advance, we were unable to reschedule to another weekend.

To appease some of the disappointment, an afternoon of sledging was organised (with some refreshments served after) - some photos of that opposite. And if you head to our facebook page, you'll see some daredevil "sledge jumping" videos!!

And the Junior Section as got involved in the snow, helping clear the church hall carpark so their meeting could go ahead and having a snowman building competition.

Following our collection of 40kgs of food for the local foodbank, we've been counting (well, Mr Steele has - verdigris covered fingers to prove it!)) the loose change collection boxes issued to boys to raise funds for the Glasgow City Mission.

We still think some have to be returned but the tally so far and the chequed headed to the City Mission totals £462.40!! A great amount and one that will help Glasgow City Mission to feed and support those less fortunate and provide them with a nutritious meal.

And Glasgow City Mission have been quick to express their thanks - their response to our tweet opposite.
