ANCHOR BOYS SUMMER TRIP

Friday 31 May was our Annual Display for 2018/19. Unfortunately, our Inspecting Officer Stephen Crompton was unable to join us but was ably represented by his daughter Beth, who delivered an inspring message from Stephen at the end of the night.

Prior to that all Sections gave a demonstration of some of the activities they get up to at their Section meeting nights - Anchor Boys showed off their indoor curling skills, whilst also joing in 'The Bear Necessities' sing-song with Junior Section, after their 'cup game'.  Company Section had a dizzy penalty challenge as well as a volleyball knock-out match.

Achievements were then presented to all boys, followed by the awarding of the Company Trophies.

Many thanks to all who attended.

NEWS FROM THE 212TH

Annual Display

After what seemed almost like a week of continual rain, our prayers were answered for this year's Anchor Boys trip to Heads of Ayr Farm Park.  The sun shone, it stayed dry, all contributing an enjoyable day in Ayrshire.

This year we were joined by boys from the 190th Glasgow Anchor Boys (Stepps) taking the numbers of bloys attending to 23.  The 190th is a relative small section, so trips like ours are not a regular feature of their programme.  Fair to say that they and our own boys had a great time enjoying all the activities - bouncy pillows, climbing fort, diggers, mini-quads, and seeing/feeding many of the animals.

And after all that there were a few sleepy head son the journey home, but already looking forward to next year, with the 190th keen to join us again.

JUNIOR SECTION CAMP 2019

Despite a beautiful drive north and a spectacular evening sunset, the weather enjoyed last year was not to be repeated.  A wet start to Saturday morning continued through the day, however that did not dampen spirits and an enjoyable day was had at Landmark Adventure Park on the roller coasters, water slides, maze, climbing equipment and all the other attractions.

A brighter morning arrived on Sunday for the outdoor laser tag event, where sharp shooters took aim (Mrs Ritchie being a popular target!).  After an enjoyable morning the rain eventually returned for the journey home.

Overall a great weekend was had by all and we'll be looking towards booking a venue for 2020 soon. Details of that will hopefully be available at Enrolment Night in August.
