GRANT AWARD FROM CLYDESDALE BANK

212th Glasgow has received a £500 grant from Clydesdale Bank to assist in its purchase of a new set of company colours to mark the company's 40th anniversary since its enrolment at Cadder Church.

The donation is part of the Clydesdale Bank's Staff Volunteer Grant programme, which provides cash to groups in which its employees are involved. The grants are provided through the Yorkshire & Clydesdale Bank Foundation, a registered charity established by the Banks in 2008.

TOP REFEREE PRESENTS BB AWARDS

A top football referee was the guest of honour our recent Company Inspection and awards ceremony.

Brian Winter, who regularly officiates in the Scottish Premier League,  was the Inspecting Officer at the 212th's Company Inspection at Bishopbriggs Academy, the evening before he took charge of the Celtic v Hamilton Accies SPL match at Parkhead.

The company, which next year celebrates the 40th year of its affiliation to Cadder Parish Church, has had an interesting and enjoyable programme of activities this session.

Brian, who had previously visited the group in his former capacity as the Commander at Bishopbriggs Fire Station, complimented the boys on their display.

In his brief speech to the youngsters, he said: ''The Boys' Bigade has a long and distinguished history, and you should all be proud to wear the uniform, and to be a part of it.''
