 40TH ANNIVERSARY PARADE

The 212th Glasgow, led by the Pipe Band of the 182nd Glasgow, parade from church after their thanks-giving service and dedictaion of a new set of colours.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the 13 February 1970, the 212th Glasgow commenced activities within Cadder Parish Church. Initially a Junior Section was formed and on that first night, 8 boys enrolled. That number soon grew to around 40 and after 5 weeks of meetings the Company was enrolled on 26 March 1970. The following session a Company Section commenced, followed by an Anchor Boys sections (known as Shipmates back in 1970). And over the preceding 40 years the 212th grew and developed into a well established and respected Company of Glasgow Battalion. This year, 2010, the 212th will mark this with a number of special events, which will be detailed on the news and diary dates pages of the website.
Anniversary Messages

"What a joy to see the 212 still doing well. The 40 year photos are absolutely brilliant. I still have my copy of the volleyball team photo and lots of others from camps and newspaper cuttings. I was one of seven boys who attended on the first night on 13 February 1970. Best wishes from me. I still pride myself and boast about the valued lessons and friendships for life I learned from many years in the 212 as boy and officer. The smiling faces of the officers and boys in the '83 photo say it all."
